Battle River Grain

Battle River Railway is serviced by CN out of Camrose. Grain and oilseeds are shipped off BRR on a weekly schedule. Producer deliveries are accepted at 4 locations along the rail; Rosalind, Heisler, Forestburg, and Alliance. There are also multiple locations along the railway where producers can load their own railcars, if preferred.  BRR has partnered with PureWest Commodities to form Battle River Foods, offering competitive bids on all commodities. Producers are encouraged to participate in BRR’s fall sample program to best market their goods into the highest value market.

Battle River Railway is pleased to offer rail transportation into CN and CP’s network for all commodities. For the import of bulk goods into our surrounding communities, we encourage businesses to consider rail. Our flexible train schedule ensures your product arrives on time and is competitive with highway transport over long distances.

BRR transloading facilities are community/privately owned, located in Alliance, Forestburg, Heisler and Rosalind.  These facilities add value to our producers by enabling us to provide quicker settlements, based on delivery weights and grades.  Grain can then be blended to fit sales much more easily than the individual producer car model, opening the doors for more marketing opportunities.  Our facilities offer flexible delivery times and fewer line-ups.  As these facilities are community owned, please note transloading fees apply, and are deducted directly from producer settlements. BRR bids are posted as loaded rail (fee to come off of that where applicable) unless otherwise specified.
